After getting engaged in the summer, I had no idea what type of ring I wanted. We went ring shopping on two occasions to Dublin, but despite trying on many rings, there were none that made me feel like it was ‘the one’.

I decided to think about the style I wanted for a while until I mentioned to my friend that I was considering a coloured stone. She highly recommended Brian, who made her engagement ring, and I made contact with Brian then.

From the first phone call, Brian was knowledgeable, eager and easy to talk to. He took both the design I wanted and budget into account. I was looking for a specific shade for my stone and Brian was extremely patient with me when sapphires he ordered in were not the shade that I had in mind.

While waiting for a sapphire to become available to purchase through his dealers, Brian began making my wedding band, in the matching red gold that we had planned for the engagement also. I was hoping for a delicate ring, that could be worn with or without the engagement ring and what Brian created surpassed my imagination.

Meanwhile, Brian continued to search for a sapphire in the colour that I was looking for. He reached out to his contacts who then assisted him in sourcing a stone for me. We viewed the sapphire 3 weeks before our wedding and loved it. Brian then made the impossible possible and had the engagement ring completed for me to wear in time for the wedding. 

I will always be thankful to Brian for not only having the patience to source my dream sapphire and make two delicate rings, but for putting in no doubt what was a lot of overtime to ensure I had both of my rings on our special day. Throughout the whole process, I had complete faith the Brian would be the man to ensure I had the perfect ring forever.

Kieran proposed when we were on holidays during the summer. He proposed with the most beautiful diamond in a gorgeous little box. I’d never heard of that idea before! If you want the perfect engagement and wedding rings, you do not need to go any further. My fiancé and I tried so many jewellers and antique shops and nothing jumped out at me, I was on the verge of making do when I found Alchemy on the internet. A friend had Brian polish his wedding ring and I asked him to do the same. We got talking and I explained I had an idea about a bespoke piece (or maybe pieces) of jewellery that were just an idea and I needed help to bring it to life. I could see it and could talk about it but I couldn’t even draw it…. this is where Brian excelled – he took the genesis of my idea, developed it and helped bring it to life and before I knew it he had a drawing and a proposal. Shortly after he had the piece of jewellery finished and I must admit we were all blown away with the execution and the standard of workmanship – simply awesome!

The first piece was for my daughters 18th birthday and a second was for my wife’s birthday. With 2 of the 5 pieces completed and 3 more daughters I cannot wait to have the full set. Brian is both an artist and a specialist with precious metals and I was very lucky to find him – thank you.

On another note – I said id let you know how things went with Kinnitty castle. They were absolutely brilliant from start to finish , the meal was superb ( all guests commented on this ) , the service was top class and nothing was too much trouble for them . The banquet hall was decorated beautifully and the whole castle was full of candles and beautiful flowers. It was so romantic and absolutely perfect 🙂
